BP said it has awarded a contract worth £100 million to manage six support vessels for its North Sea operations to Bibby Ship Management.

Bibby, which has headquarters in Liverpool, said the contract will be managed from Aberdeen and will involve more than 200 crew and support staff. It added that the contract will run for a minimum of five years.

The work will include managing two new-build Platform Supply Vessels. Bibby will also manage eight rescue and recovery craft sited onboard four existing support vessels.
