ENERGY Ventures, the Norwegian private equity business, has said it aims to invest £64 million in the UK in the next 12 months and has beefed up its Aberdeen team to help it achieve that target.

The company has appointed a former banker, Tomas Hvamb, as senior associate in the Aberdeen office. He previously spent over four years as vice-president at Barclays Bank.

Greg Herrera, partner at Energy Ventures, said: "2012 was a busy year and culminated in the sale of one of our very successful companies – Red Spider."
