SOUVENIR and textile supplier Bulloch, Cowell & Co has secured a six-figure overdraft with Clydesdale Bank to help expand its product range and buy a new stock management system.

The Glasgow company, which trades under the Glen Appin of Scotland brand, supplies Scottish themed goods into the tourism sector around the world.

Its products range from tea towels and magnets to upmarket Harris Tweed bags and accessories.

The new stock management system will help signal if items are selling quickly and alert the business when to re-order.

Chris Slater, who took over Bulloch, Cowell & Co in 2012, said: "The Glen Appin of Scotland brand has always been synonymous with quality Scottish souvenirs, but I felt it had been under-used.

"When I acquired the company I spotted an obvious opportunity to re-launch the brand, build on its reputation and increase its market reach.

"Securing these new overdraft facilities from Clydesdale Bank has really helped us to invest in new products and look at improving the way we supply our most popular lines."

Bulloch, Cowell & Co, which employs eight full-time staff, can trace its roots to 1903 and operated mainly as a textiles manufacturer until the late 1970s when it began to move into souvenir supply.
