The first interactive digital map of Scotland's entrepreneurial support "ecosystem" has been developed by Adam Purvis, director of the young entrepreneurs' network Power of Youth.

The map, backed by all of the agencies included, is claimed as the first to rationalise the "bewildering array" of support services available in Scotland under seven distinct strands: incubators and accelerators; funding and investment; education; news, events and information; networks; training; and employment.Purvis said: "Our job now is to get the word out so people looking to navigate Scotland's ecosystem can use this tool to save themselves time."

Power of Youth will also stage the third in an international programme of four events, supported by RBS and the Scottish Government, in which emerging entrepreneurs combine with colleagues who have built businesses of scale, along with leading members of The Entrepreneurial Exchange, including Cairn Energy boss Bob Keiller, Balhousie Care Group founder Tony Banks and digital entrepreneur Chris van der Kuyl. The next session, at Harburn House in West Calder, West Lothian, will involve mentoring on achieving growth and scale. It will take place on January 24.

Purvis said: "As part of the legacy programme of the original Power of Youth events, we are trying to encourage a ripple effect through a well-ordered ecosystem, and how that can work to encourage more entrepreneurs and others who are attracted to come here."
