FASHION brand Ted Baker has reported an 18.3% increase in retail sales for the eight weeks from November 10 to January 4 compared to the same period in 2012.

Profit margins at the company, which had its first ever shop in Glasgow, were in line with expectations and there was no "significant promotional activity" before Christmas.

Founder and chief executive Ray Kelvin said it was a "strong result over the Christmas period in a competitive trading environment".
