A Scottish oil and gas production technology specialist has won two contracts in the Gulf of Mexico worth $17m (£10.5m) in total, writes Mark Williamson.

Proserv, which has headquarters in Aberdeenshire, has been appointed by Noble Energy and Talos Energy to supply equipment that will be used on deepwater wells. The equipment will operate at depths of up to 6100 feet beneath the surface.

Proserv's chief executive Dave Lamont said: "These are significant wins for the company that highlight the strength of our technical and engineering expertise."

The wins provide further evidence of the success that Scottish oil services firms are enjoying in overseas markets.
