JOHN McNicol, a founder of the Glasgow-based Kelvin Capital investment network, has joined the board of the LINC Scotland association for business angels.

Jock Millican, chairman of LINC Scotland, said: "Kelvin Capital is one of the most active angel groups in Scotland and John's appointment will bring a west coast focus to the table. All the syndicates do things slightly differently, so it will be beneficial to have input from both east and west coast groups."

Mr McNicol said he was pleased to be joining the board of LINC Scotland at a time when the country's business angels are winning recognition for the role they play in supporting young companies.

He noted: "The formation of new angel groups and the amount of investment in early-stage companies is on an upward trajectory."
