Munro's, a dominant player in Aberdeen's travel industry for more than 100 years, has growth plans that will create more than 20 new jobs this year.

The oil-industry travel specialist, which employs 120, says it will hire experienced new staff alongside recruits from its own travel academy.

The company is reporting unprecedented demand from clients planning to attend the world's top energy show.

It says it has sold almost all its flight and accommodation packages for the annual Offshore Technology Conference, which opens in Houston on May 5.

Managing partner Murray Burnett said: "We are still several weeks away and are already almost sold out.

"Demand is strong for OTC packages every year but they have been booked much faster this time around."

Munro's will continue a 40-year tradition as it organises travel for 300 clients from Scotland.
