ITV's Scottish-born chief executive has seen his annual remuneration more than treble to almost £8.4 million.

The company's annual report for 2013 shows Adam Crozier received a basic salary of £841,000 and a cash and shares bonus worth £1.4m. There were also pension contributions of £109,000 and taxable benefits of £20,000. On top of all that he made £3.95m from the vesting of share awards from when he joined the media company four years ago, while there was a further £2.04m from a performance share plan incentive package. In 2012 his total remuneration came in at £2.9m.

The annual report also confirmed Mr Crozier's basic salary for 2014 would be increased by 7% to £900,000.

ITV's share price has more than doubled in the past year.
