RECRUITMENT portal s1jobs has confirmed it is to carry high volumes of apprenticeship opportunities for the first time.

It has agreed a deal with QA Apprenticeships which is expected to see around 150 roles across a number of sectors being advertised across the summer.

Billy Girvan, partnership manager at s1jobs, said: "The value and benefits of apprenticeship schemes are obvious and these types of roles are absolutely essential to the economic growth of the country and perhaps more importantly in increasing employment. We're absolutely delighted to partner with QA to advertise their apprenticeships roles and look forward to helping job-seekers on their way to rewarding careers that will hopefully last a lifetime."

QA is the lead provider being used to meet a Scottish Government pledge to add 2000 IT apprenticeships by 2016. It is expected the bulk of the posts featuring on s1jobs in the coming months will be in IT, software development and business support. Siobhan Cronin, head of engagement at QA, believes the partnership will give more opportunity to young people in Scotland.
