JCB has won a contract worth £29.3 million to supply high-speed backhoe loaders to the US Army.
The machines can travel at up to 60 miles per hour, meaning there is no need to transport them by truck.
The order will be manufactured at JCB's North American plant in Savannah, Georgia, and is scheduled to be delivered by 2017.
