AGGREKO has already mobilised a team of 50 people as it gears up to provide temporary power for the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.
The technicians are on site at the moment making preparations to install the 17 megawatts of power the company will be installing.
The Glasgow business said it will be using its TwinPack generators to minimise sound around the course and practice areas.
Part of the power will be needed for the broadcast facilities for the golf event which reaches a viewing audience of around 500 million across 183 countries.
Aggreko said it would be using 600 distribution boards to connect and feed power around the course.
Alongside that Aggreko will also be providing the air conditioning for the hospitality units, media centre and various other temporary facilities around Gleneagles.
In total it will be powering and cooling 40 different structures around the grounds of the Perthshire hotel.
Its team of staff will remain in place for up to three months after the Ryder Cup ends on September 28 to disassemble equipment.
Angus Cockburn, interim chief executive, said: "Aggreko has vast experience of providing temporary power and temperature control solutions at golf tournaments.
"Doing so at The 2014 Ryder Cup, which is on our doorstep and is perhaps higher profile than any previous tournament is a great privilege."
Aggreko has worked on previous Ryder Cups as well as other golf tournaments such as the US PGA, US Open and French Open.
This summer it is also providing temporary power for the football World Cup in Brazil and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Former British Gas boss Chris Weston will take over as Aggreko chief executive later this year.
