FINANCIAL services veteran Jim Pettigrew has been appointed chairman of the board of Clydesdale Bank plc.

The 56-year-old chartered accountant has been a non-executive on the board since September 2012.

He moves into his new role to replace Cameron Clyne, the former chief executive of Clydesdale parent National Australia Bank (NAB), who has now retired.

Mr Pettigrew has worked in executive roles for the likes of Icap, Ashmore and most recently spread betting firm CMC Markets.
