MORE than half of the exhibitor space for All-Energy, the trade show for the renewables sector, has been snapped up - nine months before the event takes place.

The response from exhibitors from nine countries - including Belgium, Canada, France, Finland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, The Netherlands and the UK - comes after it was announced the event was moving from Aberdeen to Glasgow.

The fifteenth All-Energy show will take place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) on May 6 and 7, 2015.

It will occur during Green Year, the first themed year to take place in the city, with All-Energy one of a series of schemes designed to get local businesses and communities involved in sustainability projects.

This year's event attracted 450 exhibitors and brought in 6,875 visitors from 48 countries and organiser Reed Exhibitions hopes the support of the renewable sector in Glasgow, including industry, academia and the research and policy sectors, will ensure it continues to grow.

Event director Jonathan Hastie said it was a "wrench" to leave Aberdeen but he insisted: "We are delighted that there has been such a positive result to the news that we are moving the UK's largest renewable exhibition and conference to [the] SECC."
