GLASGOW-BASED Axis Studios has declared its intention to take on 20 staff in the next 12 months after securing £250,000 of European funding. The animation and visual effects company, which has provided content for Netflix, Warner Bros, BBC, Sega and Universal Studios, said the funding would help it enter new international markets and open new revenue streams. The cash boost was received in the form of a Regional Selective Assistance via Scottish Enterprise. Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop said Axis is “bursting with creative enthusiasm and ambition. I look forward to seeing more of their work on the big screen.”
