Brewgooder primes for expansion
Brewgooder, the social enterprise which aims to provide clean water to one million people, has appointed Scott MacDonald as commercial director and “chief well digger”, as it sets its sights on increased UK distribution across the on and off trade.
Mr MacDonald, who has experience with AB Inbev and Eden Mill, has been tasked with increasing Brewgooder’s presence in the UK off-trade and developing an improved draught offering to bars and restaurants. It is currently stocked in 150 outlets.
Mr MacDonald said: “Brewgooder has made a strong start and it’s already a recognised brand having strong working relationships across some of the UK’s top operators. But now is the time to scale up.”
London is a key focus for Brewgooder and the brand is currently recruiting for a business development manager to help them secure influential listings in the capital.
Brewgooder is brewed in partnership with BrewDog.
'Fresh chapter' for Esh with change
Esh Border Construction has said the appointment of a new regional director for Scotland marks a “fresh chapter” for the business.
Gerard McMahon will take over the role as the Livingston-based business continues to target fresh expansion, having arrived at the company last year as commercial manager.
The company said it had “quickly recognised his vital contribution” with promotion to regional director, and he now hopes to extend and enhance Esh’s pipeline of work.
The promotion is aimed at steering the company’s growth strategy and Mr McMahon is expected to play a leading role in shaping its long-term fortunes.
“There undoubtedly continues to be a huge opportunity for an agile, mid-sized business like ours in Scotland," he said.
Mr McMahon, who takes over from Simon Phillips, believes a £5m overhaul of its technology and IT systems, will help it win new business.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
