Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 19 store heifers in Lockerbie yesterday to a top of 242.7pper kg and an average of 206.42 (-26p on the previous sale), while 27 store bullocks peaked at 245.2p and levelled at 210.1p (-7.6p).
Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 11 prime heifers at Ayr yesterday to a top of £1439.90 per head and 245p per kg to average £1219.90 and 223.5p, while 5 prime bullocks peaked at £1372.95 and 243p for the same beast to average £1047.29 and 194.3p.
In the rough ring 48 beef cows sold to 186.1p and averaged 144.6p, while 80 dairy cows peaked at 158.8p and levelled at 117.1p. Five bulls sold to 144p and averaged 116.7p.
There were also 11 dairy cattle forward that sold to £1850 for a Holstein Friesian heifer and averaged £1276.36.
Wallets Marts sold 738 prime lambs in Castle Douglas yesterday to a top of £114.50 per head and 242.1p to average £92.11 and 215.6p (-26.8p on the week).
The firm also sold 55 heavy cast ewes to a top of £110 for Suffolks and an average of £81.49, while 115 light/export-type ewes peaked at £71 for Blackfaces and levelled at £40.56.
