One third of EY Scottish partners now female

ACCOUNTANCY giant EY has appointed two equity partners in Scotland through the internal promotion of Cara Heaney and Mike Timmins. 
EY employs around 1,000 people in Scotland across its Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness offices. The new promotions bring the total number of partners dedicated to the Scottish market to 34.
Ms Heaney is a partner in people advisory services and leads the global mobility practice across Scotland and the north of England. 
Her accession to partner level brings the proportion of women on EY’s partnership in Scotland to 32 per cent, its highest ever level. In the last three years, EY has now welcomed 12 new partners to its Scotland partnership, seven of whom are women.
Mr Timmins is a partner in the transaction advisory services (TAS) team. He is responsible for growing the corporate finance practice in Scotland, working alongside Ally Scott. 

Manager hired at leading theatre

Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) has appointed Colin Marr in the role of theatre director at the Edinburgh Playhouse.
He will join the team in Edinburgh in October from his current role as chief executive at Inverness theatre Eden Court.
He has been in this role since 1997 and led a £23 million capital development which transformed Eden Court into the largest multi-venue arts centre in Scotland, with two theatres, two cinemas, two studios and conference and meeting spaces. He also oversaw the founding of Eden Court Creative, which is now the largest theatre based provider of Creative Learning in the UK. 
He is currently chair of Visit InvernessLochNess – the UKs first tourism business improvement district, and is a board member of Scottish Film. He previously worked at Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre and was a member of the Scottish Government’s Cultural Commission.

Charlotte Street Partners expands

COMMUNICATIONS agency Charlotte Street Partners has announced two new additions to its team and three promotions. 
The Edinburgh-based agency, which also has an office in London, has extended its team to 17 with the recruitment of Martha Walsh as partner and Sabina Kadic-Mackenzie as associate partner. 
In addition, David Gaffney, Laura Leslie and Harriet Moll have been promoted to partner.
Malcolm Robertson, who co-founded the agency in 2014, said: “We are delighted to welcome Martha and Sabina to our team. In addition, the promotion of David, Laura and Harriet reflects their outstanding contribution to the firm.”
