Mr Glen highlighted the company’s progress in developing a major energy park at Glenmuckloch in Dumfries and Galloway, where planning consent was recently granted for a 400 megawatt (MW)pumped hydro storage scheme. The plans centre on the site of an abandoned open cast mine. The green light followed consent for a 26MW wind power development on the site last year.
Elsewhere, the company noted that it had completed work on an £8.9m retail and food destination at Dalkeith on the outskirts of Edinburgh, stating that it created 40 jobs. The development, which includes a modern children’s activity playpark, has attracted more than 110,000 visitors since opening last July.
On property, Buccleuch reported flat conditions on the commercial side, with the residential market said to have performed well.
