Taranata makes key appointment
EDINBURGH-based recruitment company Taranata Group has announced that Simone Lockhart will be joining the business in April as director of strategic development.
Ms Lockhart, who has almost 30 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, was formerly managing director of Search in Scotland, having joined in 1998. She joins Taranata Group from Barclays Bank, where she was head of resourcing - Scotland.
Taranata was established last year when Paul Atkinson brought together Head Resourcing, Change Recruitment, Head Medical and Atkinson Macleod under one umbrella. The group employs almost 150 people and turns over around £65m.
“Simone is an outstanding individual with proven abilities in the talent sector,” he said. “She is a collaborative leader, quick thinker and an innovator and is exceptionally well placed to drive the Taranata Group forward."
Pharmaceutical firm strengthens board
NEUROCENTRX, the Edinburgh-based pharmaceutical company, has appointed Nigel Brooksby as non-executive chairman and Tim Corn as a non-executive director, as it aims to take the company to a global market.
Neurocentrx is developing new forms of administration for oral ketamine. Its plan is to repurpose an approved human drug most commonly used as an anaesthetic, providing the potential to improve pain management, and significantly impact how psychiatric conditions such as severe depression are treated.
Mr Corn was previously chief medical officer at EUSA Pharma International and Zeneus Pharma and has played a key role in over 20 regulatory approvals in USA and Europe.
Life Sciences entrepreneur Nigel Brooksby brings experience in business and growth strategy across the healthcare sector. He has held senior global positions at Pfizer, Sanofi and Wellcome.
Retirement leads to surveyor changes
A PARTNER vote at chartered surveyor Graham + Sibbald following the retirement of longstanding senior partner Iain Leighton has seen current managing partner Les McAndrew move up to the senior role vacated by Leighton. In addition Calum Campbell, formerly partner in charge of the Glasgow office, moves up to the managing partner position.
Graham + Sibbald has made a number of senior hires in the first months of 2018 and recently relocated its Edinburgh office to 40 Torphichen Street.
