Stravinsky's Concerto in D for strings and the Octet by French composer Jean Francaix reflect the 20th century's preoccupation with the music of an earlier age, exemplified by one of the greatest works of the late 18th century; the Clarinet Concerto by Mozart, with the renowned Michael Collins, clarinettist of London Winds, as soloist. Bringing the programme up to date is a new work by genre-crossing composer Steve Martland written for the Ensemble and entitled Eternity's Sunrise.
