Red Note is a professional music ensemble founded by Scottish cellist Robert Irvine which specialises in performing new and recent music to the highest possible standards. They made their debut in May 2008 with a recording of Eddie McGire's Carrochan suite. Based at the RSAMD in Glasgow they aim to tour Scotland twice a year, in the Spring and Autumn. As well as performing, they also commission new music. Michael Tumelty has described them as "a muscular new team, brimming with the best musicians in the business".
