Are they just lucky? Is it great students? And even if it was, how could you guarantee the consistency of excellence in their concert performances? Every generation is different. Are we waiting for a routine crop? Is it good teaching and top-drawer coaching? Is it the charisma or quality of the conductors they attract who inspire the students to reach beyond themselves? Is it the ethos of the place? I don't know. It's magical. It's mysterious.
