Central and Waverley stations are among 75 "transit locations" that the insatiably nosey folk at Google have included on Street View now.

They've even included the inside of an Emirate Airbus 380 at Dubai Airport (thankfully not at Central - well, you just can't get the clearance to land).

"Don't let travel logistics get you down this holiday season," they boast. "With Street View, you can see how to get where you're going faster and easier. Enjoy and safe travels!"

Ha! Don't they realise they're cutting off a valuable excuse avenue? How can we say there were "terrible problems" at Central now when our boss can just Google it and see that it's so peaceful and smooth flowing they can even drive a Google car across it (even land a 380 perhaps)!

Thing is, this is just the start. Google surely have a whole stack of stuff up their sleeves. How long before we have Google House? We've all seen the gallery functions on estate agents' websites that provide a totally unrealistic view of the insides of people's houses.

Do you know anyone whose house is this tidy in the normal cut and thrust of weekly life? Of course not. No houses are that tidy. Yours isn't.

If yours was on a estate agent's site it would probably have a warning: "Some viewers may find the following images disturbing. The vendor has promised us that he will tidy up soon, only he's been busy what with work and stuff ... AND WILL SOMEONE GET THAT DOG OUT OF SHOT PLEASE OH GOD HE'S ON THE BEDS AGAIN!"

Google House will go one stage further. This will allow us to look around people's houses as they are in real time.

You're invited to someone's house for dinner. Can't decide whether to go? Simple. A couple of clicks now and you can see them cooking and - they dropped it! Will you come and look at this. They dropped that tomato on the floor and they've put it in the dish. Quick. Get on the phone. Tell them we can't make it. Think of something. Anything. Your mother's been kidnapped by aliens, that wallpaper pattern's been designed by aliens ...

It seems likely that Google is behind these digital autopsies that have just started too. Google is everywhere. Surely the "live" version of these can't be far away. Stomach ache? Was it something you ate? Let's have a look ...
