An immigration rethink is a must

ONCE again, it seems, the Coalition Government is being sent homeward to think again about a policy that may appear to make sense in one part of the country but would spell disaster for Scotland.

The Herald understands that Theresa May, the Home Secretary, is under intense pressure from within the Coalition to relax the proposed cap on non-EU immigration because of the knock-on effects on universities.

Scotland has never needed its international students so badly.
