Diploma of excellence

The term “baccalaureate” comes with a pedigree. The International Baccalaureate was developed in Switzerland as a globally acceptable university admissions qualification for the offspring of diplomats and international business executives.

 It is widely regarded as more challenging and academically rigorous than Highers or A-levels, and it does no harm to have it if you’ve set your sights on Harvard, Oxford or other elite universities, where IB holders are well-represented.
