Don’t let America give us lessons in justice

The controversy surrounding the Scottish Government’s decision to release the man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing may have been expected to die down in the year ­following Abdel Baset al-Megrahi’s first steps to freedom.

Instead, it rages more furiously than ever, fanned by the righteous anger of American senators who are more concerned with whipping up anti-BP hysteria than dealing with the realities of the events leading up to the release.
