Landowners who allow slaying of raptors should be made to pay

The latest death toll of birds of prey is a distressing one.

In the first six months of this year, four golden eagles, a sea eagle, five red kites, three buzzards, two peregrine falcons and one sparrowhawk were poisoned in Scotland. This wanton destruction of our most majestic birds is bad enough.
