No airbrushing this victory for advertising standards

Congratulations to Jo Swinson.

The Liberal Democrat MP for East Dunbartonshire has won a significant battle on behalf of everyone, regardless of age or sex, who feels their appearance does not measure up to the required standard.

As a result of a complaint by Ms Swinson, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has ruled that the airbrushed image of Julia Roberts in an advert for Lancôme foundation was misleading and should not be used again. This follows a similar victory over an Olay eye cream advert featuring a taut-skinned Twiggy
