Paisley has an opportunity to reverse a pattern of decline

Paisley’s extremely grand buildings – the abbey, the town hall, the museum and the former mills now converted to housing – testify to the town’s long and vibrant history.

They are also a reminder of the wealth now long absent from its blighted high street. Rival thread barons left landmark legacies, the Clarks building, the town hall and the Coats museum.
