No doubt columnist Jenny Hjul will incur the wrath of SNP supporters for daring to suggest that First Minister Nicola Sturgeon should spend more time at home dealing with the ills of the NHS and woes of the education system rather than globetrotting ("Some home truths for our globetrotting First Minister", The Herald, June 23).

While there is obviously some value in marketing Scotland "professionally" abroad, I am sure our leader's gravitation towards celebrity status will do little to make things better for the ordinary person on the street, particularly someone in pain waiting for attention in a struggling A & E Department.
