Time for action on alcohol abuse

There is universal agreement that Scotland has a serious problem with alcohol but deep division over whether imposing a minimum price per unit of alcohol will be an effective way to

tackle it. The scale of that problem is revealed by The Herald today. Drink was a factor in 14 of the 18 murders committed in Strathclyde in the last two months.
