I AM at one with the sentiments of Barry Lees's letter (January 16).
By virtue of its very name, our National Insurance is what it says it is, an "insurance" policy. It is in reality a nationalised payment protection insurance policy, and we are all well aware of how derided this type of policy is.
One has to ask what actions our financial ombudsman would take against any privatised PPI provider, were they to abuse the terms and conditions of their policies as our Government is abusing the terms and conditions of our national insurance policy by means of welfare reform?
