I THOUGHT Samuel Peploe must have had a pretty rough night when I saw his 18th-century retro makeover on Page 3 this morning (July 5) – already hammered, rather than under the hammer.
I wasn't sure that there was "still life", as your headline claimed. Robert Inglis,

His artist namesake of a more recent vintage is pictured above.
