Bishop Hugh Gilbert remains a professed Benedictine
Rebecca Gray refers to Bishop Hugh Gilbert as a "former monk once chosen by Pope Benedict XVI to be the next leader of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales" ("Ex-monk is first of the new bishops", The Herald, August 15)
Bishop Hugh is not an “ex-monk”. He continues to be a professed Benedictine, as evidenced by the fact that he will continue to be known by his name in religion, Hugh, and not by his baptismal name, Edward.
