THE designer of the Scottish Commonwealth Games uniform has succeeded in putting Scotland on the fashion map - a 19th century fashion map ("Mixed reaction to Team Scotland uniform to be worn at opening parade", The Herald, July 7.
'There will be no mistaking that this is the Scottish team," says designer Jilli Blackwood. Unfortunately, she is correct .

Couldn't we just have paraded in See you Jimmy hats and mumbled Scotty's "she canny take much more, cap'n" as our anthem ?

IF the cringeworthy uniform to be worn by Scots competitors at the Commonwealth Games is an example of Scottish decision making, it will do much to swell the "No" vote in the independence referendum. Frankly, one would not do this to a sofa.
