The war on the disabled continues unabashed (Sick and disabled forced to work without pay, Cover story, December 2).

The Government seems to need to do something to cover up economic failure and the poor outcomes of the Work Programme.

Employment and Support Allowance claimants have been deemed "not fit for work", so why are they being forced to work for free? There needs to be recognition that many people on Employment and Support Allowance face significant challenges in their lives and it may take some time before they are ready to enter paid employment. Indeed, the wrong job with the wrong support may make a bad situation worse.
