I AGREE entirely with Jim Murphy that far too many people in Scotland are trapped in the past and fixated by other people's faith ("Labour hopeful's faith at centre of sectarianism row", The Herald, December 10).

 

Unfortunately, by continuing to advocate sectarian education he is one of them. Our religiously segregated education system owes its very existence to people being fixated by the faith of others, namely the Catholic/Protestant hatred that has plagued Scotland's history since the days of John Knox. This is the 21st century, yet Mr Murphy still defends and advocates this absurd educational apartheid. The time for change is long overdue.
