The plethora of television programmes on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F Kennedy has reminded us all of his contribution in defusing the Cold War threats of the early-1960s.

However, I do hope in June 2018 the same attention will be paid to the 50th anniversary of the assassination of the president's brother, Robert F Kennedy, who had so much to offer the world at the time of his death. Had Bobby Kennedy not been assassinated he might have saved us from Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and perhaps at least one of the George Bushes.
