I THANK James Sandeman (Letters, January 26), for his kind comment on my problem with bus lanes (Letters, Janauary 22).

It may be of interest to hear that on the day after my letter was published I received a rejection of my claim for clemency.

I was told I could appeal with the threat that, if I did and my appeal was rejected, I would be liable for costs. They were aware that I am a 77-year-old cancer sufferer who is unfamiliar with Glasgow regulations, as we have no such problems in a country village.
