The danger of the announcement of the £14 billion nuclear power station at Hinkley Point on the Bristol Channel coast of Somerset is that it will reduce the resources for renewable energy (Is our green energy dream falling apart?

Business, October 20). Rather than investing in a nuclear waste legacy, the focus should be on developing all types of renewable energy and energy efficiency, including proper insulation for our housing stock, which has seen decades of under-investment.
