It was great to see your article on the long-term threat posed by the invasion of Rhododendron ponticum (Top scientist says plant is eco threat, News, June 15).
However, in the article you stated that I was the National Trust for Scotland's (NTS) ecologist: this is not the case, although I have been previously employed in this role. Hence, although the NTS has worked to control rhododendron on its properties over the years, it must not be assumed that the views expressed by myself in the article are those of the NTS.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
