CREATIVE Scotland has rebranded the well-respected and world-recognised Scottish Screen Locations site as Creative Scotland Locations.

Presumably it is trying to excise any memory of the late screen agency Scottish Screen. But it should know Scottish Screen Locations was set up in 1991 as a limited company with the remit of attracting film production into Scotland and this we did successfully, before we were absorbed into Scottish Screen and afterwards under its umbrella.

Scottish Screen Locations is known around the globe, appears in many screen directories, is a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), the renowned accreditation body of location finders, and was the first port of call for film or television companies looking for specialist help finding locations to shoot their production. Are these professionals now looking for locations assistance under C? I doubt it. This is another example of Creative Scotland failing to listen to the industry it is supposed to serve.
