I AM in complete agreement with the comments of Duncan MacIntyre (Letters, October 28).

The latest comedy effort Scot Squad, pictured, founders on several counts, albeit the concept of a spoof programme based on modern Police Scotland is both original and promising.

Portrayals of an unfortunate person shivering in a cardboard box and an apparently intoxicated motorist under questioning should not create situations for comedy viewing. In this age of political correctness it does seem the scriptwriters have breached the code of practice relative to broadcasting standards.

Perhaps repeats of Rikki Fulton as the hilarious traffic cop would be more welcome to many instead of the latest BBC insensitive plod production.
