Skewed priorities over the disabled

HAVING read recent reports and letters in The Herald on the subject of day centres and their funding for the most disadvantaged sections of our people, I was minded to revisit an incident which took place some time ago.

Nicola Sturgeon found a surplus in the health budget for 2011-12 of £12.6m. It then appeared under the heading "Transfer to Sport :Commonwealth Games 2014".

As a father of a handicapped son, the sense of priorities that have been exhibited by Ms Sturgeon and too many others in government does not come as a surprise.
