So many questions unanswered on Rangers' financial situation

There are many aspects of the unfolding drama of Rangers' finances and Craig Whyte's involvement and unusual financial arrangements that have still to be explained ("Whyte: I did use season ticket deal for Rangers takeover", The Herald February 22).

How was an astute and successful businessman like Sir David Murray, presumably surrounded by legal and financial advisers, persuaded to sell to Mr Mr Whyte? Did they not carry our due diligence, which would easily have discovered Whyte's past business record and that he had served a seven-year ban from holding directorships because of previous questionable practices?
