AT a time when the NHS is under scrutiny with a General Election coming up, I would like to mention a positive experience I had of it the other day.

I was unfortunate enough to trip and fall in Rouken Glen, and needed to visit the minor injuries unit in the New Victoria Hospital in Glasgow for a small repair to my nose. A neighbour kindly took my wife and I down to the Victoria and we had to wait less than five minutes to receive treatment. We were out within a further 10 minutes with one butterfly stitch in my nose and a shiny new dressing on it together with a bundle of extra dressings in case of need. Needless to say I was treated with the courtesy and sympathy that one would expect from such a service.

A very positive experience.
