WHILE I am aware that stem cells being removed from milk teeth and stored for future use may not be very well known about, Becca Graham is not the first child in the UK to do this ("Girl, seven, the first to bank teeth stem cells", The Herald, November 2).

My son, Mac Brown, aged seven, had stem cells successfully taken from his milk teeth three years ago, in December 2009, shortly after his fifth birthday. They have been placed in storage for his future use should he require them and I would imagine he is not alone in this. I feel this is most certainly the future of self-help medicine.
