I AM moved by compulsion to erstwhile commend Drew Allan on his entertainment-wise commentary on English as it emerges from the mangle not from the mouths of babes but from their elders and betters when distressed by stress from time to time ("Celebrity goofs are laws of the jungle", The Herald, November 18).

Likewise I can relate to having shot my foot by putting my mouth in it and made the game a bogey when duressed. He has addressed the subject like a lintie in full song with wings of imagination. More AC or DC to his pen.
