DAVID Purdie (Letters, September 2) suggests that independence will stem the flow of talent heading south.

With the possible exception of politics the opposite is more likely to be the case.

London will still attract talent, and the fact that it is in a foreign country might make it more attractive.

Scots have always looked beyond their horizons, and indeed our national football team was at its strongest when a significant number of Scottish players were plying their trade south of the Border.
